Many hotel chains do not know how to initiate an effective quality improvement program.

 

Nowadays, nothing is more important to top management than quality. For many, many years, quality was considered a simple control element, centered on checking defects generated in the factory, returned by customers and valued the costs related to this. As usual, top management and managers in general paid little attention to this, delegating quality management to a few quality control inspectors and a few engineers.

Today, top management's perception of quality is changing, because of the success and quality awareness of foreign competitors.

Many Brazilian companies have  demonstrated their effective quality management - based on strong leadership from the top down of the organization and "with teams" such as the famous (CCQs.) quality control circles and task force - solving problems at the middle and lower levels of the organization , thus promoting healthy competition. Quality has become a matter of survival and ensuring the organization's survival is, without a shadow of a doubt, the responsibility of top management, who should create "ways" for all employees to have this same ideal. Therefore, many executives are today directly linked to quality; many, however, do not know how to start an effective quality improvement program. They need to identify which basic requirements for the successful implementation of a quality improvement program are present and which are lacking, as with this a realistic quality management it can be implemented. This likely means that many people in your organization, answering these essential questions, will feel uncomfortable. The fact is, understanding for quality improvement starts with questions that only top management is in a position to answer. Issues that escape the traditional aspects.
